Die Cut Printing Choices

Your business stationery, business cards and printed advertising can be as creative as you can imagine when you consider the colour options, the paper choices and the finishes which are open to you. However, if you are looking for a truly unique printing option for your business print media, there is one other option you can indulge.

Die cutting opens a whole world of new opportunities for your print media as your business cards and advertising, and even your letterheads and office stationery can be any size you can think of.

Die cutting is most often used to cut out pockets in folders and the like, however, it can also be used to cut paper or card into special shapes. You may want something as simple as a curve to the top of your letterheads because it will mimic the shape of your logo. Or you may want a simple diamond shaped business card instead of a rectangular one.

You can of course be even more creative with die cutting your office printing and cut business cards into the shape of a star, a circle, or even the shape of your logo if the shape is conducive to that. Die cutting also allows you to punch out parts of the paper in your printing projects so that the spaces left in a flyer create an outline of your logo, or you create three dimensional advertising.

However, with anything specialised, you need to remember that die cutting your paper for your next printing project will be more expensive than simply printing on standard shaped paper. Therefore, you may choose to experiment with die cutting for a short advertising print run, or use simple die cuts like a cropped corner or rounded edges.
